Sideman chez Wynton Marsalis et Roy Hargrove, Ben Williams a remporté en 2009 le prix Thelonious Monk. Aujourd'hui, à seulement 29 ans, il joue dans différents groupes autres que le sien, notamment celui de Pat Metheny. Voici son deuxième album en tant que leader, après State of the art [UW6053] sorti en 2011. A la croisée du jazz fusion, crossover des années 80, smooth jazz et post bop.
