Après Wings At The Speed Of Sound, Venus and Mars, Wings Over America, RAM, McCartney, McCartney II et Band on the Run, Pipes of Peace et Tug of War, Flowers in the Dirt est l'album du catalogue de Paul McCartney à bénéficier du traitement de luxe de la Paul McCartney Archive Collection. Comme pour les précédentes éditions de cette série, Paul s'est chargé personnellement de la supervision du projet sous tous ses aspects. Flowers in The Dirt paru en 1989, trois ans après Press to Play, est son septième album enregistré en solo. Elvis Costello co-écrit certains titres, et David Gilmour tient la guitare sur We Got Married. Cette édition propose un second cd incluant les démos originales de cet album.
