GOOD 'N' CHEAP : THE EGGS OVER EASY STORY
EGGS OVER EASY
Hailed as a living jukebox, New York's Eggs Over Easy started the punk-presaging movement which became pub-rock after being brought to London to record at Olympic Studios with Slade manager-producer Chas Chandler in November 1970, but found themselves abandoned with an unreleased album. After securing a residency at Kentish Town jazz-pub the Tally Ho, the band saw its deliriously cavorting audience swell by the week, including Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe and other sundry future members of pub-rock royalty.
