Enregistrements de terrain par Jarkko Niemi, Vera Semënovna Nikiforova et Ilpo Saastamoinen en 1992 auprès du peuple Khanty. Cette ethnie vit en Sibérie occidentale et dans la Russie européenne, entre l'Oural et le fleuve Ob, et est d'origine finno-ougrienne. Ce disque présente des chants rituels (de chamanes) et narratifs liés à la vie quotidienne et possèdent de nombreux instruments, contrairement à d'autres peuples de Sibérie : harpe à neuf cordes, lyre, luth, guimbarde, tambour de chamane.
