Le label américain Numero Group retrace la carrière du musicien et producteur Lou Ragland sur trois disques. "I Travel Alone" se concentre essentiellement sur deux albums du chanteur guitariste s'illustrant essentiellement dans la northern soul et le funk: "Hot Chocolate" (1971) et "Understand Each Other" (1978). Le troisième disque est un enregistrement live ("Live From Agency"). Un livret très détaillé revient sur la carrière de cet artiste à la destinée atypique, qui fût roadie ou encore chauffeur pour les O'Jays et Don King avant de fonder le groupe Lou Ragland & the Bandmasters et de jouer avec des artistes comme Billy Ward & the Dominoes.
