Attiré par les sonorités orthodoxes de Russie, Rachmaninov transmet un bel exemple de ces chants choral a capella. Composée en 1910, la liturgie de Saint-Jean Chrysostome fait partie des oeuvres très personnelles du compositeur. Richesses vocales et mélodiques que l'on retrouvera dans les Vêspres (1915). MDW
