Il s'agit du 13ème album live d'Eric Clapton. "Live in Sandiego" a été enregistré le 15 mars 2007 à San Diego, il propose 16 titres dont 5 en duo avec le JJ Cale. Les deux musiciens assuraient alors la tournée promotionnelle de l'album "Road to Escondido" qu'ils avaient sorti ensemble en 2006.
