Opéra rock controversé à sa sortie en 1973, Quadrophenia n'avait jamais été joué en intégralité sur scène malgré le succès commercial du disque. C'est le second des opéras-rock du groupe, après Tommy, sorti quatre ans plus tôt (1969). (A.B.).
