Ensemble spécialisé en musique mediévale, renaissance et baroque, particulièrement en musique ancienne byzantine. Ce coffret de trois disques collecte la tradition de chansons lamentant la chute de Constantinople, et les luttes perdues face aux Francs, aux croisés, aux Vénitiens et finalement aux Turcs. Les textes ont traversé 500 ans et nous sont parvenus, paradoxalement, sous forme d'airs à danser. Les chants ont été retrouvés à travers toute la Grèce et l'instrumentation reflète les diverses traditions musicales locales. Livret détaillé en grec, anglais et français. (BD)
