"The Road to Memphis" fait partie d'une série télévisée documentaire intitulée "The Blues" (au sujet très explicite) produite par Martin Scorsese. Il y a, en plus de celui-ci que l'on doit à Richard Pearce et Robert Kenner, six volets, tous réalisés par d'excellents cinéastes: "Warming by the Devil's Fire" (Charles Burnett), "Piano Blues" (Clint Eastwood), "Red, White and Blues" (Mike Figgis), "Godfathers and Sons" (Marc Levin), "The Soul of a Man" (Wim Wenders) et "Feel Like Going Home" (Martin Scorsese). Ces albums sont également présents dans la collection blues (rechercher par le titre: "Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues...").
