Ian Brennan a enregistré au Cambodge des chanteurs et musiciens qui ont survécu aux Khmers Rouges. Ces chansons sont traditionnelles et interprétées soit a cappella soit accompagnées d'instruments comme le luth chapey ou le "kann", orgue à bouche très rare dans la région.
